Mail not addressed as such may be delayed, returned, or not delivered. Please do not use P.O. Box in the address as this mail may not be delivered to the University. All current students living on campus and plan to receive mail MUST have a mailbox set up in order to receive mail.

Packages may be picked up at The Exchange (Campus store). The student’s I.D. is required to pick up packages. You will receive an email when we receive your package. Please note that you may receive a delivery confirmation from the shipper, before you receive the email from us. Please wait to pick up your package until you receive the notification from us that your package is ready.

Students must contact the Mail Center to obtain a mailbox. The student mailboxes are located in the Gillmor Student Center, near the security office. Mail is delivered by 2:00 pm Monday through Friday. The mailbox number assigned will remain with the students during their tenure at Tiffin University, providing they are living in campus housing. Mailbox keys must be turned in before summer break and will be re-issued at the beginning of fall semester. Keys that are not turned in or have been lost will incur a $25.00 fee.

The student mailbox is important and used by many offices on campus. Please check it often and clean it out on a regular basis. All mail left in the mailboxes at the end of summer will be returned to the sender.

Packages which are too large for the student’s mailbox will be located in the Mail Center and the student will be notified for pick up via TU e-mail account once processed. Packages may be held for up to 30 days. Packages not retrieved after 30 days will be returned to the sender or discarded. The TU Mail Center shall not be held liable for improperly addressed mail or packages that are not delivered.

Students must return the Mail Box key at the end of the Spring Semester to the Mail Center. All students must stop at the Mail Center (or other designated area) to pick up their key at the beginning of the Fall semester. There is a replacement fee of $25.00 to duplicate lost keys or if the key is not returned prior to the student’s graduation. The student mailbox is important and used by many offices on campus. Please check it often and clean it out on a regular basis!

The Mail Center offers domestic and international postal services, which are available to all students, faculty, and staff. We currently offer: stamps, envelopes, parcel postage shipping, first class, express and standard mail processing. Shipping services (including express parcels) include UPS, FedEx, USPS, and DHL. Amazon packages may be delivered to the Mail Center as well. Please note that at this time, the Mail Center is unable to produce labels from a QR code. We gladly accept packages that are pre-stamped or prepaid and labeled. Those items are processed immediately and go out that day or the next business day. All outgoing mail and packages being shipped must be received prior to 3:00 pm to ensure same day shipment. If received after 3:00 pm, the package will go out the next business day.

Correspondence that fits in the mailboxes may be picked up from the mailboxes at any time. Packages from the delivery services (US Post Office, UPS, FedEx, etc.) are scanned into our system and an email is sent to the student’s Tiffin University email address. The Student’s I.D. and signature is required to pick up the package in the Mail Center. (If you receive mail that is not yours, please return it to the Mail Center.) Exceptions may be made for students to have their packages picked up; however, the student to whom the package is addressed MUST contact the Mail Center first for additional information, instruction, and approval.

Below are some reasons why your mail may be delayed or undeliverable

  • Incorrect Name or Address
    • Name and addressing concerns with packages may result in a delay in delivery.
    • No name, names other than the student name on record, inaccurate residence hall or room information will cause delays.
    • If the correct owner cannot be identified, mail will be returned to sender.
  • Not Enough Postage
    • Items received requiring additional postage will be held in the Mail Center for student pick-up and payment of additional postage. A notification about insufficient funds will be snt to the Student’s Tiffin email address.
  • Tampered with or Stolen Mail
    • Unfortunately, sometimes mail can get torn during the mail sorting process but if you believe your mail has been opened unintentionally or stolen, that is a criminal offense and should be taken seriously. Contact U.S. Postal Inspection Service Website.

*We will make every attempt to notify you of your packages that we receive. After 3 attempts and holding the packages for 1 month, we will return to sender.

Tiffin University is not responsible for delayed or lost packages that have not been addressed properly, or have been lost or delayed through the carrier service.*
